For 25 years, I worked alongside attorneys in high-stakes trial strategy, where words mattered, trust had to be earned, and communication could change an outcome.
Those lessons followed me from the courtroom to the boardroom, the breakroom, the stage, business, in leadership, and life.
For nearly 20 years, I've consulted, trained, and spoken with leaders and organizations about what I've learned along the way, clarity builds trust, communication shapes outcomes, and when seconds count, words matter.
Add in a few decades of life lessons, successes, failures, plot twists, and some serious "you cannot make this up" moments, and you get the journey that ultimately led me to create The Clarity Code™.

1968
Born in Ohio
1974-1987
Grew up in Medina, Ohio with 3 siblings
wearing the hat of caregiver as both my parents worked. My goal was to keep them alive – SUCCESS!
1987-1991
First steps in identifying the real me,
I attend John Carroll University focusing
on psychology, business and law.
1991-1996
Moved to Lakewood, OH to begin career
in litigation advocating for the little guy.
1996-2001
Followed a boy to Denver, CO and continued my litigation career. Divorced my "idiot" after four long years of marriage taking my first steps into courageous action and self-advocacy. Sold the ring and bought the horse – meet BeauJo, my boyfriend.
1998
Lost my job when my firm left Denver and closed their doors. Pulled up the bootstraps and started anew.
2002-2016
Continued to work as a senior litigation paralegal for several top firms in CO.
2003
Married my Prince Charming.
2003-2005
Two years of struggle, frustration, and the ups and downs of unexplained infertility.
2005
Welcome Jackie! My longtime dream of becoming a mother came true.
2006-2016
Launched part-time direct sales business. It was here that I discovered confidence is learned and jewelry did more than dress up an outfit, it dressed up the woman!
2009
Lost my job due to the economy. Yet again I pulled up the bootstraps and started anew.
2010-2011
Survived multiple major health crises, including the loss of child, and hit my rock bottom. Began internal work on self-advocacy, communication, and self-worth.
2015
Shared my story on stage for the first time.
2016
I saved my own life after suffering another near-death experience. The tools, systems, and behavioral changes I developed and implemented literally saved my life, reinforcing there’s still more to do!
2016-Now
Launched Sharing the Shine full time to train on self-advocacy, self-confidence, emotional intelligence, and communication.
2017
Suffered the losses of my mother and both dogs. Such grief redefined me.
2018
Honored to be awarded Colorado’s Business Woman of the Year
2019
Became an Amazon Best-Selling Author with my father as my biggest fan
2019-Now
Spoke on stages across the world on self-advocacy, effective communication, leadership, team-building, navigating conflict and emotional intelligence.
2023
Celebrated 20 years of marriage to Prince Charming.
